Since 1982, DTGruelle has been providing Customs Brokerage and Freight Forwarding services based out of the United States. Today, DTGruelle imports & exports freight to/from more than 140 countries around the globe, to include domestically. With an ever-growing international presence, the DTGruelle Group of Companies started the US based 501(c)(3), DTCare. This sister non-profit organization operates with a focus on humanitarian projects in the developing world. DTCare’s mandate is to provide for the overall betterment of civil society by offering jobs, training, and support to veterans; working to end generational suffering—especially for women; implementing programs to reduce and end poverty; providing medical aid and attention to the disadvantaged; and pursuing the advancement of science and scientific research.

Combined with DTGruelle’s unique expertise and an understanding of strategic and geopolitical concerns, DTCare can quickly shift focus to support global operations and respond to both domestic and international humanitarian, disaster, and crisis relief operations. By coordinating the operations and capabilities of an incredibly diverse range of DTGruelle’s Partners and Subcontractors, DTCare can dramatically reduce the time and expense necessary to establish, and continually support, efforts in even the most remote locations.

On August 4th, 2020, 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate detonated in the port city Beirut, Lebanon. The resulting blast was equivalent to around 1.1 kilotons of TNT and was detected by the United States Geological Survey as a seismic event of magnitude 3.3. As of October 1, 2020, the blast resulted in at least 200 deaths, 6,500 injuries and has made an estimated 300,000 people homeless.

In regards to supporting Lebanon, Marco Gruelle, Chairman of DTCare stated, “DTCare’s Lebanon operations were originally started to work on projects to assist Syrian refugees, however when the port explosion occurred in Beirut on August 4th, we found ourselves uniquely positioned to lend assistance– we had to act. We called in all available assets in the region and rapidly deployed our relief efforts the next day while we worked on collecting more relief supplies here in the US.”
