Premier Group: Meet the Team Behind Our Commitment to Excellence!

“We really like Premier Group because of their promptness, accuracy, and willingness to help. They give you good ideas on what you can do, what you cannot do, to make everything else more profitable and easy.”
Barbara Saunders, Director of Creative Kids, client since 2015.

Statements like Barbara’s are the cornerstone of our commitment at Premier Group. As a black and women-owned small business, we take immense pride in our dedication to diversity, empowerment, and excellence. In 2024, our founder, Joye Sistrunk, received recognition as one of Forbes’ Top 200 Certified Public Accountants (CPAs). This prestigious accolade honors her achievement and highlights the significant collective impact of black and women-owned businesses within our industry. At Premier Group, we offer more than just financial audits and accounting support. We provide a comprehensive suite of services tailored to meet the diverse needs of federal, state, and local governments, small to large businesses and non-profit organizations.

Principal and Founder of Premier Group, Joye Sistrunk, CPA, CGFM. One of Forbes “Top 200 CPAs, empowering force in Black and Women-Owned businesses.

Working with federal, state, and local governments has taught us how to support missions, assist contracting officers, and maintain financial guidelines. Our value lies in our experience and expertise.

Collaborating with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Small Business Administration (SBA), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and others has given us the unique privilege of understanding various agency needs and the support requirements of businesses serving the government. We also grasp the complexities of regulatory environments and the importance of strategic financial management in achieving organizational goals. This is why Premier enjoys learning the needs of each new client who trusts us to fully service their accounting needs. Under Joye Sistrunk’s leadership, Premier Group ensures that our team embodies tenacity and a steadfast commitment to our core principles.

Joye Sistrunk’s journey into the accounting world began early, driven by a desire to make a difference and help others succeed. Her academic journey includes obtaining an Accounting Degree from Loyola College in 1998 and a Master’s Degree in International Business from the University of Baltimore in 2005. These educational achievements laid the foundation for Premier Group’s expertise in navigating global business landscape. This enables us to provide personalized accounting and financial management services to clients and support U.S. government agencies effectively.

Inspired by a desire to be an asset to her country, Joye also served as a member of the United States Air Force Reserves. Premier’s approach reflects the discipline, loyalty, and work ethic instilled during her military service. With every client interaction, we uphold the values of trust, integrity, and accountability. Since its inception in 2005, Premier Group has grown from a solo venture to a team of dedicated professionals and consultants.

The genesis of Premier Group stems from a desire to transcend the  ordinary. Our founder chose the name “Premier Group” with purpose, understanding that it should signify something exceptional. It’s about being premier and inclusive—a group dedicated to excellence and innovation. This ethos drives everything we do.

Our commitment to excellence is unwavering, guided by our core principle: “Trust. That’s Our Bottom Line.” This commitment is reflected in every aspect of our operations, from client relationships to service delivery. Beyond audits and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) compliance, we strive to empower business owners by assisting them with their money mindset and helping them understand and enhance their financial portfolios. We aim to foster financial literacy and empowerment within our community, creating a ripple effect of positive change.

As we look to the future, we remain dedicated to empowering success, fostering diversity, and positively impacting the communities we serve. Our journey as a black and woman-owned small business is a source of pride and inspiration, driving us to continuously innovate and excel in our services. We are committed to meeting and exceeding our clients’ expectations and our industry’s standards, embodying the values of diversity, empowerment, and excellence every step of the way.
