Assistance to Serbian Microfinance Sector/AgroInvest
July 2012

AIS has been operating in Serbia since 2001 and now has over 14,000 low-income borrowers and an active portfolio of EUR 12 million. It has been conducting its micro-lending activities through cooperation with banks as required by the current Serbian legislation. To support AIS in the shifting legal and economic environment in the country, FLAG was tasked to explore new partnerships with other banks, carry out market research to develop new products and complete a formal examination of the potential of a micro-leasing operational model.
